sRGB versus Adobe RGB tip
As we all know, sRGB, aka stupid RGB is the color space for the web but, there always a “but”.
What do we need when we put our images into the web?
Color consistency, right?
We want our images to be as similar as possible with what we saw on our monitors.
Even if you do, as I do, monitor calibration with hardware, forget the monitor calibration for a moment and, please, do the following exercise.
Save an image, any image, with a sRGB color profile.
Open, IE, Firebox and Safari and drag your photo into all the three browsers and tell me what you see.
You’ll see three photos, each one with his own color tones, depending on the browser, right?
Now, do exactly the same but with an Adobe RGB color profile and tell me what you see.
You’ll see three photos, almost equal to each other.
